LightsUP Drama Festival is a youth festival showcasing school groups and individual drama pieces from Kindergarten to Year 12 students in NSW public schools.
Schools are invited to submit drama items for audition for the LightsUP Drama Festival.
The operation of this program is contingent on advice provided by the NSW Department of Education in consultation with NSW Health. All activities will adhere to the DoE COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions.

Technical Rehearsals will take place from 9am-4pm on the day of the performance.

Thrust stage (Seating is raked and has 300+ capacity)
Performance length should not exceed 10 minutes (Primary) and 12 minutes (Secondary)
Appeal to a varied audience

Suitability for performance in the selected venue to an audience that may include students from K-12
Performance rights for any music or drama pieces must be organised by the school.
Audition videos must be uploaded to YouTube and the video link included in the Google Form nomination. It is important that ample time is spent rehearsing, recording and reviewing the performance video.
Ensure that the video is of sufficient high quality to allow the panel to view the details of your work and your performers.
Cover any windows or doors in the room where the audition is being filmed, so that light from outside doesn’t interfere with the visual contrast in the film.
It is important that all students are able to be viewed in the film.
