Bandlink Newcastle is a 2 day workshop for Year 5 and Year 6 students at NSW public schools providing an opportunity to play in a large ensemble under the guidance of professional conductors and musicians. Students learn specialised instrumental and ensemble skills which culminate in a concert at the end of the workshop.
In 2021, 4 ensembles will be created in 3 levels:
Current DoE COVID-19 guidelines, in consultation with NSW Health, will be strictly adhered to and you will be advised immediately of any changes required.
Tuesday 5 October and Wednesday 6 October 2021. (Term 4 Week 1)
Please note: The original July 2021 program was been postponed to support efforts to maintain the safety and wellbeing of students and staff.
We will provide participating schools with updates later in Term 3.

Student Mentoring Program
This program is available for secondary students who play a musical instrument. They will attend a preparation workshop on Monday 19 July from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. These students will receive instruction in instrumental pedagogy and during the 2 day workshop they will work within the ensembles as student tutors working with small groups of students.
