Great Lakes and Greater Taree Music Workshops

The Great Lakes and Greater Taree Music Workshops provide an opportunity for Years 3 to 10 public school musicians with the opportunity to broaden their skills by workshopping and playing in a concert band or guitar ensemble. Students will experience sectional rehearsals while collaborating with other like-minded students and perform in a concert at the conclusion of the workshops.

The workshops will form 3 ensembles:

  • Senior Band for those more capable students who have attended the workshop previously or have played their instrument for a number of years.
  • Junior Band for students who have taken up an instrument within the last year. The junior players will be supported by focussed section rehearsals where student to tutor ratios are small.
  • A guitar ensemble where students will work independently of the concert bands, playing a repertoire of rock and pop genre.

The operation of this program is contingent on advice provided by the NSW Department of Education in consultation with NSW Health. All activities will adhere to the DoE COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions.
