"Every artist was first an amateur" Student art exhibition

"Every artist was first an amateur" is a weeklong art exhibition, held at the Project Contemporary Artspace Wollongong, exhibiting work by Years 10 and 11 creative arts students from public schools across the Illawarra.

The aim of the project is to provide students with the motivation to produce meaningful class work, as well as providing them with a real life, subject specific experience to assist their course work and increase their appreciation of the arts culture.

The nature of an exhibition allows the public, including parents and family members to engage with the students learning and celebrate their achievements.

The operation of this program is contingent on advice provided by the NSW Department of Education in consultation with NSW Health. All activities will adhere to the DoE COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions.
